Hey guys, I am planning to switch to an acoustic snare so I was looking around. I have no clue as to where to start. So far i have found these
Tama Metalworks Snare Drum

Oh ok thanks for the advice
The thing is, I am still a beginner. Would it be wise to change earlier or learn until i am comfortable and then learn the heel up?
Hey guys,
Thanks for helping me with double stroke, finally got it down.
Now I have another problem
Right now I play the bass with my heel as rest at all times (I think its called flat foot). I...
Just wondering
Is it one stroke and letting the stick bounce twice and stopping the bounce with my fingers.
Or is it strike with the wrist, wait for the stick to rebound then close your...
Just to get it straight

Ok, i get that after a while counting becomes natural.
But
One more question,
How would you do drum fills, without knowing when a bar is over or when to end your fill?
Oh ok, thanks! i was getting worried because i wans't able to keep count during songs.
I am just wondering,
When you guys drum, do you always keep count or is it just second nature to stick to the beat. Because even though i practice with a metronome I still find it easier to keep...

To enhance my knowledge I was thinking about ordering 4 way coordination, because it seems like this is an essential book. And thanks for the advice, from now on ill practice my rudiments on a pillow...
Seems like finding a teacher is very important,
Ill try and find one and learn the foundation from him/her. Just don't want to spend too much, since drum teachers are not cheap.
I practice whenever i can, Ill start my rudiments with my left from now on
Thanks a lot guys
Thanks for the advice :D
And also,
What are the goals you have to meet when learning a rudiment?
Playing in at a certain speed?Playing it in a drum fill?
Ty for the info guys,
Can you guys give an order in which I should learn the rudiments because right now I know the
Single stroke roll
Four stroke roll
Single Para diddle
Flam (Learning it now)
I have been trying to do double stroke rolls and so far, my left hand seems almost too slow, and when I try to go faster, I just go off beat. Can you guys recommend any exercises or books to get to...
Welcome,
I recently bought an Alesis DM6, and although its my first kit, I can tell you that its a great beginner's kit, all the parts are built sturdy and its pretty easy to setup. Make sure you...
I don't know how a Alesis DM6 kit matches up to a Roland HD-1, but in my opinion, its a great beginners kit (the DM6) and I got mine for $550 new. And for $800 you can get a Yamaha Dtxplorer, and...
