Re: any cheap soundproofing out there?

Egg Cartons won't soundproof the room, but it will make the acoustics better in the room. So, your music will sound "better" with egg cartons (less echo, reverberation etc). But they won't soundproof...

    Re: Headphone help needed!!!

The Vic Firth one is pretty good- They sell a cheaper version too, but that one doesn't play the music

    Re: Your soundproofing for room?

I don't even play past 6PM, because where I live, this is generally when most people are getting home from work, relaxing, watching a bit of TV. Just play in sensible times, make sure windows and...

Re: What makes a good Drum Cover for Youtube?

Good video. It's not my kind of music but it's good playing!

Just ignore any haters- They are normally just people who have nothing better to do. If you're still nervous about comments, don't...

    Re: Electronic cymbals...Yuk!

I know Electronic Kits aren't for everyone, but they are really great for people who do need to control noise, people in apartments, rented accomodation etc. They'll never be able to get up to the...

Re: Best gear you've ever bought!

My Yamaha 900 cymbal stands. They were so cheap where I bought them but they are top of the line Yammie's and are super strong. I've put on a 24" ride on there before and it hasn't even wobbled. Love...

    1. John Bonham (Led Zeppelin)- What can be said?
    2. Buddy Rich- Well same as above
    3. Keith Moon (The Who)- Another very energetic drummer
    4. Roger Taylor (Queen)- Very underrated, his ability to...

Re: Anyone ever soundproof a room?

Well soundproofing a room is a very expensive and very long job. A 100% soundproof room is near impossible, unless you spend $10,000 or more. You can reduce the noise level for a lot less money and...

    Re: Drums Disturbing the peace?

Well even 8PM sounds a bit late to me- Perhaps I'm just being a nice guy but I don't play past 6.30 at the very latest, and that means my neighbours like me because they get a noise free evening...

    Re: Gretsch Catalina Maple Heads

It depends how much warmth you want. Typically coated heads are warmer in tone. I recommend Coated Emperor's over Clear Ambassador's for a true rock 'n roll sound

Ah the Remo Muffles? From what I remember of them you place them over the bearing edge and then place the head and rim over the foam muffle.

    Re: embarrassing gig moments.

I would have, but the drum kit wasn't mine and was just the one used by a company for a music festival.

Re: A good entry level drumset?

If you can get the Catalina Maples and are willing to pay for it, then you will be able to learn to play on a quality maple drumkit. The Pearl Forum is a good entry level kit though. But have a look...
  23. Re: Scottish Metalcore Band, if you've got time to listen :)

I'll be honest with you. Instrumentally, I really like the track but I hate the vocals. I'm not a fan of that kind of metalcore music or vocals. The band did a good job though.

    If you could...

    Re: Pitch Black Cymbals

I think drummers should focus on the sound rather than the image, the Pitch Black series is just Zildjian ZHT's spraypainted black.
