I just switched out all my cymbals to Sabian. They seem to have perfected the sound my more discerning ears are looking for. :wink3::wink3:

Yep. First thought, Mike Mangini. I like the way it's easier to get cymbals flatter and lower by inverting the tilters. Great looking set up!! Can't go wrong with Yamaha SCB (?)
Nice rig TD! That snare drum is beastly!!
Oh, sorry.. First thing I thought when seeing your original posting. Catalina Jazz was available in that finish for a short while about 6 or 7 years ago.
Sweet kit you have there!
Catalina Jazz are sweet little kits!
Tweaked my set up and installed and cinched up memory locks. Found my kickport..thought to be lost in a move. Played a bit.. Wow diggin this kit!
Thanks. There is a Saturn V at my LDS as well, same finish. $1500 and some change. I know I could probably get it for a song, but really, the Mars is doin it BIG for me. some day, perhaps....
Thanks. Yeah, I really dig this set up! Still tweaking it..always tweaking ..
Thanks. The tool box lives there.
Took me a minute to warm up to the black electroplated shell bits, but I love the...

the finish really grew on me. They sound amazing! Focused, powerful and musical. Highly recommend!
Yeah, I was the same. The electro plated hardware is supposed to...
Hey thanks for the comment! The color looks strange in my pics, probably due to lighting in my drum room. The 14" floor tom has an orphan remo emperor due to lack of EC2 in that size. I plan to grab...

Sad day it was when Bingo bought the ranch. Many a weekend afternoon spent in my late teens early 20s plopped in front of the tOOb in my "smoking" jacket immersed in The Bingsters drum stylings and...
I recently switched over to all Sabian ..I picked up an 18" XSR fast crash.. LOVE IT!
That is obscene.. In a cool way..:icon_cool:
With KHS/MAPEX acquisition of Hohner and Sonor official in 2015, it will be interesting to see what the brand will be offering up going forward.
You absolutely cannot go wrong with Mapex drums. Meridian Maples are amazing sounding drums!
While I can't speak directly on the raw bell drys, I recently switched over to Sabian. I went with the SR2 series as it was in my budget and had the sounds I was looking for. I am more for a refined...
Ouch!! Coffee fired out the nostrils hurts!!:shifty:
I sold off my Paiste PST 7s. A bit too high pitched for my needs. I went with Sabian SR2 16 crash, 14 hats and 20 ride..then I have a 19" Meinl Classics Custom dark crash and 2 Wuhan splashes. Talk...
Does the " R" stand for raw bell or racing or?? I don't mean to be snarky and I could do research.. Just curious. I like the XS series. I just grabbed a few SR2s. Really liking Sabian.
Same thing happened to me a few years ago selling a car. I posted an ad in the autos for sale calling out his BS. Don't know what effect that had, but I was teed to say the least!
