    Re: Bass drum reso head

Single ply heads (coated or not) will resonate more.

Watch a decent bass drum head comparison to get a handle on what is what.

Here's one. (unfortunately the resonant head status is unknown...

    Re: Bass drum reso head

    Big differences.

I'm my experience, getting a single ply bass drum Reso with an inner hoop ring works the best. I've tested this on multiple bass drums over the years.
    Also, I don't add any...

Re: Do Broomsticks cut it ?

    Hello and welcome.

You'll get no sound "feel" difference from the edrums themselves, but you will get physical " feel" difference however.

Re: Evans EC Reverse Dot and 500 Snare side

    Noice.

For me, snare heads are nearly always Remo Coated Ambassador batter with hazy downstairs.

    Give the UV1 or UV2 a try.
I'm definitely going that route next head change.

    Re: I Love My Sabians!

A couple of years ago I obtained a set of XR20's.
I sold them; not because they were unpleasant sounding, but because they were surplus to my needs.

I kept one of these XR20'S. The 18 inch...

An Evans EQ4 in the bass drum.

  22. Pearl World Series drums. 1 or 2 ply heads?

I have a MK2 version of this kit arriving shortly.
I read that the coated insides of these shells can cause some resonance that is not overly desirable, ( but I have no experience with this, do...

The Giant Beat Multi's would sit beautifully into this situation I think. If 18" was the target then the GB 18 Multi is right up there with perfect cymbals for that situation.
  24. Re: pearl world series vs exports what's the difference

I have opportunity to buy a MK2, 5 piece WLX World Series kit.
Not a bad price, but do I really need it? Darn they sound nice though.
