That was really good.
Same thing happens to me, especially with cymbals.
It wasn't marked or anything? That's weird.
If you're looking for a brighter sound, sure. But K customs are darker than A customs, so you might be mismatching.
Whenever they give demos on cymbals, they don't alter the sounds. I'm pretty sure those are the pure sounds of the cymbals. They may be condensed a little bit to reduce overtones though.
Thanks for all the suggestions. I'm going to Guitar Center this week/weekend and I will look into some used cymbals. The 18" crash is definitely going first.
Never buy used drumsticks, heads or thrones. I'd say not to buy used thrones because you don't know what they've been through, or if the previous owner was, well, large.
Get an 18" fast crash.

I wish I would have found out about these before I bought my $80 Stretch O'Neill headphones for playing along with music. /:
22" K Custom ride by Zildjian. Very nice, dry, loud ride with a fast decay.
That just means you need to really practice. ;)
Yeah, but they're not always the best stands.

Watch his videos! He is an insanely good drummer. His ghost notes are perfect.
I've never heard of shells wearing out. It sounds like a definite tuning issue. What heads and resonants are you using?
Yes. Unfortunately, I went with the cheaper single braced stands. I should have gone with double braced. But hey, DW is really good, and so is Tama. Tama makes great hi-hat stands.
Well, I've had the Zildjian ZBT pack for about 1 1/2 years now, and I have to say, the 14" hi-hat, 16" crash and 20" ride are great, but the 18" crash, I don't know what's wrong with it, has insanely...
I've been thinking about used cymbals, but it's always a risk. You never know if there are weak points on that used cymbal. But I'll definitely look into some used ones next time I'm at Guitar...
Find some cymbal polish provided by the companies the cymbals are created by.
Looks like a Paiste. The seller doesn't know what brand it is?
I've been saving up and using all of my money for mine for about 2 years. :icon_eek:
Definitely. Your cymbals are great too! I've always wanted A Customs, I just don't have close to enough money to afford them.
1 up 2 down requires you to reach around a little more when you try to hit that second floor tom. It's more difficult for me.
I personally use Sound Percussion boom stands (not double braced) and they aren't very stable.
At least get the double braced stands.
Look online. You'll have more choices than a local store.
I currently use Sound Percussion, but I want to use Tama or DW.
