  1. CP SP series or Mapex Venus series for metal?

    Getting a starter kit and these are my 2 cheapest options. Will be used for metal style drumming. Both have only the shell pack so no hardware/cymbals.

    Which would suit me and sound better to you?...

    :hammer::hammer:

    Not cool, can anyone explain why? Is it just because I am new?

    I have to login every 3 seconds it seems like. Every action, every page.

    Pretty annoying.

    Do you guys think a $150 Mapex Venus set with the best heads and tuning could sound even comparable to a $500 set. (used prices of course)

    Then buy some $500 double kick pedals, good snare and some cymbals :icon_lol:

    Re: Help me choose drums for metal.

    I do like the sound of the really deep drums. I used to have a birch PDP a few years back. I do like how they sounded overall but the small tom, I think maybe 8x10 was too high pitched sounding to my...
