    Re: Gone Waaay Too Long

Welcome back, PB! I've been over on the dark side, playing the guitar, but I still have to check in every now and then.

Re: May have a second set soon...

There are 2 things that will make me walk away from a great kit at a great price without glancing back over my shoulder: concert toms and power toms.

Re: How computers killed rock music

I'm not sure if it was 1" or 2" tape. I know that the records were 7" 33 RPM with two short songs on one side and a long one on the other.

Re: How computers killed rock music

That video really gave me an even deeper appreciation of having had the chance to do it the old fashioned way. When my old band did a 7", all the rhythm tracks were laid down in the same room, at...

Sticky: Re: So what drum related stuff did you do today?

Exchanged some emails with a singer/guitar player who was looking for players. I'm hoping that this works out and I can end my 2 year hiatus. I think that it would be very good for my mental state...

Poll: Re: Vocal Harmonizers Yea or Nay

I'm anti auto-tune all day long. I'm also against snapping to the grid and other forms of electronic trickery that make musicians sound "better" than they are. When things sound too perfectly...

Re: OT --- Other Hobbies and Habits

I've been getting back into playing the guitar lately :shifty:. I got pretty rusty after neglecting it for the drums over the past decade, but it's starting to come back. Who doesn't love the sound...

Sticky: Re: So what drum related stuff did you do today?

Saturday night, I went out to catch my old band with their new drummer. The band broke up last October due to drama between the singer and bass player. At some point, this spring, they buried the...

    Re: A matching what?!!!. . . . . . .

The only red that matters in the Big 10 West is the cardinal red worn by the University of Wisconsin Badgers.

    Re: Craiglist Tom Angles enjoyment.

Wow. That one's got the biggest "idiot dent" I've ever seen. The zoomatic is a lousy throw off. People tended to overtighten them, resulting in dented shells.

    Sticky: Re: Mapex Drums Discussion

If the interior is dark, it's probably walnut. So, it's most likely an off the shelf Saturn shell (maple/walnut) with Black Panther appointments.
  18. Re: How do you adjust and equalize the beaters on a DW 3000 double pedal.

You should be able to adjust the angle of the slave beater independently. Spring tension is just for getting the same feel between both pedals. There's probably a screw that can be loosed to allow...

    Re: In a quandry

Your wife is right about it not being your job. That said, why should you carry on in a frustrating situation that isn't how you keep the lights on?

    Re: In a quandry

    Two words: do it.

There's nothing about the potential new band that isn't better than the old band. Guitarist 1 has a bad attitude and Guitarist 2 doesn't have the chops. Staying where you are...
