Absolute stunners. Those are going to look amazing under stage lights. Love the lugs and hoops.
First of all, there are some simply stunning drums on this thread. Makes me drool. LOL I love learning about builders I didn't know of before.
I'd like to add my 2 cents to the "why get an expensive...
Hello there. My name is John.
I've been away from DrumChat for several years now so I figured I should "start over."
I live in CA and make my living as an RN in a Post-Anesthesia unit. I get to...
Great looking clean little set-up you have there, Rich (Late8). Good to see you're still playing and posting your amazing drum collection. How many kits you up to now? LOL
It's been years I know....
I'm beyond excited. The count down has reached one day till lift off for FL. Been waiting nearly a year and a half since the last cruise.
The bands I get the chance to see are amazing. Top of the...
Because it sounds better when it is on a lift. Fuller and warmer with more bottom end to the tone. Doesn't effect the ergonomics at all. Really brought something else out of that kick.
I have seen many kits with horrible looking spots from where the toms scraped away at the finish just where those toms are resting. I'm always like, did you think this was supposed to happen? They...
Absolutely amazing kit. Would love to have a chance to hear them in person.
If you ever need something picked up in N'ern CA, I'm happy to help you get items they won't ship.
We need to plan another play date. That's a playground!
^That's lame.
I played the best gig of my life to date Friday night. This was my second gig with a Yes tribute band called Shine Delirious. Went worlds better than the first gig. Heard an audio recording...
Where do you live that you got your hands on Unix drums?
Love this finish and hardware combination. Great kit!
I was 8 when I could reach the pedals on my older brothers kit. He showed me some basic technique and then put the headphones on me with Creedence Clearwater Revival. Soon it was followed by Led...
They look great! I bet playing for an Elvis impersonator is really fun. Great tunes.
Great story. I love how your kit found it's way back to you. Those are indeed some very deep toms. Are you going to to just trim one end and redo one bearing edge or both? How do you do bearing...
Congratulations! Pics as soon as they arrive please! How could I not love a Sonor kit in Red Sparkle?! That's what I play! (Force 3007's. See my avatar)
Great finish and even better hardware. Sonor...
Perfectly said. I have re-wrapped four kits now and it's mostly tedious. Not hard to do at all.
I do love playing a kit that I made beautiful again and assembled entirely on my own. Feels different...
I gave a Pork Pie maple 13x4 snare to my brother six years ago. Played on it for a while this past October and totally wished it was back in my house again. Might offer my brother a different snare...
Very nice addition to your family. I love the lugs and the dimensions. Must sound pretty fat! Congratulations.
I gave my PP snare to my brother six years ago. Had to really stop myself from taking...
Amazing number of really cool kits. Is everything for sale or is the vintage room just a "museum" of drums?
I am also looking for an alternate to my 20" A Ping ride. Too funny.
Warning: the larger jam blocks are loud!! I have a red one I got as a gift. The slightest tap and that thing knocks on your brain. Sits in a closet.
Shop carefully. Let us know what you decide.
Warning: asking about head choice is like most other questions of this nature. Every drummer will give you a different answer. It's a very personal choice and usually a journey of experimentation...
