    Re: Hi-hat moving

No spike on this hi-hat. It's a cheapie for sure. No plate either.

I found a DW3000 hi-hat stand, but not sure at $80 if thats a good price or not.
He has an old single chain DW5000 for kick...

    Re: Your Kids' Music Interest

I find it sad when people discourage kids from playing or make it un-fun. The ones that really love it seem to persevere.

I've talked with countless parents who cringe and don't like hearing...

    Re: Tom angles, setup

    Great thanks for the response!

He currently has 2 toms, and 1 floor.

It looks like there is a new trend towards 1 up and 2 down, or maybe I'm just paying attention to it more.

    Hi-hat moving

The hi-hat (cheapie) seems to move a lot. Could be his method of playing, but it is on a carpet. It starts sliding forward.

Is this just a by-product of a cheaper stand?

    Tom angles, setup

Do you guys prefer more tilted toms or more upright?

I have my sons tilted back towards him, mainly because he's not quite big enough to have them more upright.
