Re: My Bandmate Died Last Night

I am 66, no band in over 35 years. Crank up some tunes through a powered speaker and rock out. Screw the neighbors.

    Last Night

So, last night was the first time I've played on stage. in public, in over 35 years. Sat in with a bunch of nice folks. We sounded pretty good, I think. I held up my end. Had a blast.

You hear all the talk about virgin drums sounding better. Do you notice any difference?

Re: What Made You Want to Play Drums?

Tom, I am like you. I was always banging on stuff at home.Got hollered at in school for "soloing" on the desk with pencils. Got a set of bongos and drove my family crazy. When I was 13 I got my first...

That's how I feel when I go north of exit 2 on the NJTP. I love rural South Jersey.

Re: Ramones - Cretin Hop - Drum Cover

    Sounds good!
  17. Re: Transporting drums to a gig in the back of a pick up truck

Kevlar on top, no heads on bottom, drums sounded great back then.
  18. Re: Transporting drums to a gig in the back of a pick up truck

Yeah, I remember North drums. And then there were those weird Rammstein Staccato drums.
  19. Re: Transporting drums to a gig in the back of a pick up truck

Is that one of those Craigslist weird tom angle things?
  20. Re: Transporting drums to a gig in the back of a pick up truck

I did remove the bottom lugs. I couldn't afford cases. Just stuck them all together and threw them in the hack of my big old Ford LTD. The old yellow kevlar heads could have been Duraline or Bear.
  21. Re: Transporting drums to a gig in the back of a pick up truck

Little toms "nest" inside of bigger toms, big tom "nests" inside of bass. Hence, nesting drums.
  22. Re: Transporting drums to a gig in the back of a pick up truck

Way back in the 70's I did not have reso heads on my Ludwigs I had nesting drums, I just did not know that;s what they were called.
  23. Re: Transporting drums to a gig in the back of a pick up truck

Is Bish from N.J. ? He started this.
  24. Re: Transporting drums to a gig in the back of a pick up truck

    Think; Russian nesting dolls.
  25. Re: Transporting drums to a gig in the back of a pick up truck

I would keep the drums end up, not on their sides. You could get some closed cell foam, cut to size, and line the box.Maybe some weatherstripping on the lid. Good luck.
