That's a beautiful sounding cymbal, and one you don't see every day.
A great complement to your 17 and 18, congratulations!

It's entirely an individual preference, but if having a double pedal will allow you to do things you were unable to do, it would seem to be a very helpful tool.
I can understand how it would feel...
Late8, I had the same impression of the Axis Longboards.
They just felt too light, like I had lost half the power in the pedal stroke.
Considered putting heavier beaters on them, but in the end...
Didn't know about this great thread, forgive me if it's been posted before.
One of my very favorites.

Deep Purple's cymbal sound is also why I went with Paiste.
Back then (early 70's) it was very difficult to find out what equipment artists were using, had to wait for an album cover with a clear...
That seems to be the norm for C/L around here as well.
Lots of beginner kits for the same price as new or even more sometimes.
Same holds true for cymbals.
My current favorite is a Catalina Maple...
Wow, lots of webfoot Washingtonians here, I had no idea.
Really glad to hear that. Nice to meet you guys!
Kickinit, glad you finally got that all sorted out.
Man I love the finish on that kit! Just beautiful, and that bass head looks great on it.
Still Alive and Well - Johnny Winter
Favorite music genre?
Welcome Tony!
Good to see another Washingtonian here. Sounds like you have a nice kit and six years drumming under your belt at 14, wow.
Looking for great things from you!
Welcome DP, and best of luck on your upcoming gig!
Very good explanation late8.
Always love seeing pics of that magnificent kit!
Have an 80's Tama with similar sizes.
Getting the toms flat is not possible, but they are very comfortable to play.
Just play them the way that is comfortable for you and don't worry too much...
I recently bought a used Renown maple snare from them.
It was packed very well, shipped the same day ordered and arrived in perfect shape.
I was pleasantly surprised.
Nice kit vipfal, thanks for sharing pics of it. Welcome!
Deep Purple - Made in Japan
Learned to play by playing along with that one, wore out two copies.
Boston's first album is a very close second, though.
1986TamaSS, beautiful kit! I have a vintage Tama kit myself, and they really do have a great sound. Have fun with the additions, it looks like a blast to play!
Mine was Jimi Hendrix in '68 in Seattle.
Fat Mattress, Noel Redding's side project opened.
I'll never forget that concert, felt very fortunate to see him.
Watermelon Man - Herbie Han****
Anything to drink with that?
Beautiful job, and nice color choice.
They look great. I particularly love the bass drum hoops.
Truly a kit to be proud of!
