A friend of mine has an old Ludwig CM set (1970's). They are very nice sounding drums. Beautiful inside and out. I would look very hard at these drums if I was searching for a new kit.
Absolutely beautiful!
Unloaded the trailer and got the kit cleaned and set up, after saturday nights show.
Lol, she still has me!!!
My wife said no to two things, 1- a motorcycle...we now are on our 4th bike, and 2- a tattoo.... i now have 4. There is always a compromise.
Last September we were playing a show about an hour away, set the kit up and went to the trailer for the cymbals....................NONE! Left them at home, luckily, the show was out side and rained...
Well, not too long ago, I posted that I had joined my brothers acoustic band. Things are going great in it. We usually play on week nights, so my weekends were still free. A band from here had lost...
Unpacked and set up the kit from last nights show, and cleaned all the cymbals.
My brother and a female vocalist had an acoustic act going and decided they needed some percussion. So, I bought a cajon and grabbed my blocks and chimes, and now, I am part of an acoustic act.
rehearsed with my acoustic band
Rehearsed with a new band!
Our band is about to start working on "Round About". We do quite a bit of prog. Kansas, Rush, Floyd. We are starting to build quite a following, also. I think some people miss the old stuff.
Purchased and cleaned a set of Roto-Toms.
Up-date: Played a show last night using the shield. DID NOT like it!!!!! Pro: The front of house sounded great. Cons: All I could see was lights reflecting, felt very isolated from the crowd and...
I haven't considered that. I will be aware of it.
LOL! Thanks!
So, I have decided to try it for the band's sake. If, for some reason I do not like it, I will tell them. Also, thinking of down sizing to a five piece Mapex kit.
I am dynamic.
We use wedges. As far as sound, we onlt mic the snare and kick.
I'm playing my DW's without dampening, I love open kits, also, the only thing we mic live is the snare and kick. I consider myself pretty dynamic, getting better with this band, anyway.
So, My drums seem to be too loud for my band. I do play aggressive, but, I have eased up to the point I'm playing as soft as I can and still get into the songs. Our set list includes songs by Pink...
They should work, I used just plain white velcro on mine, and they are staying in place.
O.K. Gonna eat some crow here. I broke down and paid $80 to go see Foo Fighters, here, last week. We were on the floor. I got to tell ya'll, it was worth it. Foo Fighters are probably one of the...
Loaded the trailer for tomorrow night's show, then polished all the cymbals.
