That’s a modern badge. It’s not that old. As for year, I’m not sure. The serial number may have or may be a date code. Ludwig moved operations to NC in 1984.

I like hydraulic thrones. I did enjoy the RocnSoc I had for years. Sold it and got the TAMA First Chair hydraulic and just installed the backrest last week. Gotta have the backrest (lumbar support),...
Sweet! I just bought the backrest part and put it on last week. Ahhhh! So nice.
I’ll end up playing this after some thought. I’ll simply replace the heads and save the original. Should I sell it I’ll have the original heads. Some people like that.
I’m going to remove the original heads then give it a nice test drive!
But, but, but… it’s never been played!!
Haha!! I get ya. I’ll take the original heads off. Then give it a go.
I haven't played it and I probably won't. It's a pretty drum. It's rare being the 13".

I agree! Age is a number. Rock on!
I really like the feel of this TAMA key. I like the weight, also. I believe heavier keys are more comfortable and feel better. However, I have a little collection that I recently repurposed a...
Are you thinking of getting a set of Starclassic drums?
Isn’t this the truth!
I have three items I like to use depending on the situation. For some things (mostly daily activities or lunchtime at work) I'll use the Apple Air Pod Pro.

I agree. Great sets.
I hear that! Can't go wrong with brass, though.
My grandparents bought these in 1965 from a family friend who bought them new in the spring of 1964. My dad played them briefly then packed them away in cased for years. In the early 80's he unpacked...
He says he's done. I've said that, too. Nope. Doesn't work. GAS will always come back.

I was thinking the same thing, haha. GAS always creeps back at some point.:icon_lol:
Wow! I just pickled this up and I'm impressed. It's got great lower frequencies for a metal drum and the volume is cutting and the overall overtones are really pleasant. Easy to tune and plays well...
I have someone play so I can here. Usually my loyal and trusting roadies, fans, techs... my wife or daughters. Hahaha
I read this yesterday and had to look at a couple sources to believe it. My goodness! Just awful.
