That's very metal.
Hey,
Sonor have been making big inroads into Australia lately, the 2005 and 3005 series would be roughly equivalent in quality, price and value to Pearl Export.
Don't get me wrong, I play...
There's also Blood Duster, Destroyer 666, The Berzerker, Alchemist, Armoured Angel, Bestial Warlust, Pod People, Sadistick Exekution, Mytile Vey Lorth and many more ... for those into the heavier...
I've played a set of 13 inch B8s on a jazz gig - they performed surprisingly well.
They're really good deep fried with a honey-soy dipping sauce.
Nah, they don't take away from the sound. It just gives that fat warm punchy sound (and quite muffled too). On a Ludwig kit they'd sound really big.
:punk: :punk: :punk: :punk:
Yeeaaaaaaah!!!
Now THAT is metal. They invented it and they damn near perfected it.
I'd quite happily spend the rest of my life in a Sabbath t-shirt. I used to...

I had a ride in a souped up classic GT Ford Falcon last night (leather interior, bucket seats, blower in the hood). It was a real experience. But it did sound suspiciously like taking a ride on top...
Good list there man! Impressive.
That Max Brooks book is hilarious. He's also published a novel called 'World War Z' about 'the zombie wars' and their aftermath. Check it out - I LOVE zombies.
Granted.
We're doing a gig together. I'm playing drums, you're playing keytar ... and we'll be playing an 8 hour medley of boy band songs. (Hang on, that kind of backfired on me then, didn't it?)...
Remo pinstripes.
Thanks Funky - that's what I suspected, so it's nice to have a bit of backup
I'm always interested to hear what people have been reading for pleasure (or study, or work). I've always just devoured books, and love reading.
Lately, I've been chewing through Thomas Pynchons...
RAWK!!!
Keep it up.
I saw Testament play not too long ago.
Alex Skolnick (guitarist) has just realised a jazz trio album.
4 way. Some of it gets really trippy. I gotta admit, I find it ridiculously challenging. Then I'll watch his DVD, and he'll play 3 different time-signatures at the one time ... then start soloing...
It's no competition.
The trophy is mine.
All who oppose me shall be DOOOOOMED.
Wa ha ha ha ha ha!!!
Whoa.
What's your job?
Morgue attendent? Nurse? 'Cleaner'?
Herman Vogt.
That's a good one. I'm working through the advanced stuff at the moment - it takes a little while to click, but really pays off. I've nicked heaps of beat ideas from that one. :shhh:
Basic blast beat (which is pretty much a polka)
Bass drum + hi-hat // snare drum
repeat, and speed up as fast as you can (while still maintaining even time and a solid groove).
then try:
...
Well, there's another spat on about evolution. That should help.
It'll keep going. Then everyone will get all in a tizzy, then some people will complain about how it's supposed to be a drum forum,...
Master Studies by Joe Morello.
Advanced Interdependence by Marco Minneman (ow ... my brain hurts).
And 'Against the Day' by Thomas Pynchon (just for artistic inspiration!).
This is the thing that still confuses me.
How much difference will resonant heads make?
Am I better of replacing batter heads instead?
The main reason that I want to change heads is: I...
It keeps you in shape. The number of times I've dragged a massive double-bass drum kit with oodles of hardware and 2 overfull cymbal bags up flights of stairs ... by god, I'd probably be really fat...
