    Re: New Opportunity

    Where there's a will, there's a way...or...the Lord works in mysterious ways.
Retirement can take getting used to for many but I think you'll learn to love it. I did right from the start!!!
  2. Re: Fans Storm Knotfest Stage & Burn Evanescence Drums After Cancellation

We can be a funny bunch!
If I was playing that kind of music for that kind of people I would not use my good drums, and/or have a very capable and prepared security team!
  3. Re: New birthday treat for me....hi hat stand

I'm considering a short cable remote stand just so I can nestle my 8" tom at 10:00 10:30 along my snare without the hi-hat upright tube interfering. Then I can have the hats an inch or two higher and...

Re: Without a band, it feels weird.

13 kits! Wow, you'd need a wall rack with a servo-controlled retrieval system. Not enough floor space...

    Re: Drum Badges

Does a double negative space create a positive logo?

The all-time classiest to me has to be the keystone.

Re: Don't Judge Me.... Another Snare

I like both Remo and Evans. I think the Remos are a bit richer in pleasing overtones/harmonics. Evans seem a hair more focused around the fundamental.

    Sticky: Re: Sonor Drums Discussion

Wow! Another squished-ball L-rod tom mount ala 70s Fibes. Can't say I've ever been impressed by that design, but Sonor SQ2 is the top of my list if I were to ever want another lifetime dream kit.

Re: Do bands know when they have a hit?

You read sometimes about how surprised artists are by what their audiences latch onto. And vise verse. "I thought that one was a number one for sure..but..."

Re: Snuck this home... PDP Classics

Get some Remos or Evans or something on them. I'd love to here your impressions especially regarding the wood hoops.

Yup, It's just finished and you already need a bigger room. I'd be curious to hear your impressions on the difference in sound with triple flange hoops vs the wood singles.

    Re: Travis Barker - Cars

My mom and dad used to talk about the holy grail Gold Cadillac. The mythical symbol of success. The ones with the mega-fins were epic.

    Re: Snare buzz questions

You will always have some amount of snare buzz but you can limit it to where you really won't hear it while playing, even by yourself. I've outlined my methods before but will again for Tanner.

I guess the big designation letters being different doesn't bother you.
  18. Re: Use of having a crash-ride cymbal and a ride cymbal?

My very 1st cymbal was and is a Zildjian 18" crash ride. While it's true it's not the best at either it has the sweetest richest bell I've ever heard. It's permanantly parked about 6" above and...

Re: Reasons to Hug a Drummer?

I played at my 50th high school reunion about a month ago, not exactly Oct. 10th, but the drummer definitely got more than his share of wonderfully fulfilling hugs.

Are those extra bass drum hoops leaning bubble wrapped against the sofa? Different finish? Or?

Re: My unpopular opinion of Ozone crashes

I have a Zildjian 14" Custom EFX that I love. What I love about it is the quick decay which is what the holes impart. It makes for a nice little exclamation mark!

I would also recommend dogboning off a stand as opposed to the hoop clamp just because you may do some wailing on that sucker and that may fatigue the hoop over time.

Really??? A choked bass drum? From a hoop clamp?
  25. Re: Smaller Tom sounding deeper than bigger Tom

When you say "deeper" do you mean lower in fundamental pitch, or richer in tone? The only way I can imagine the 12" tom being higher in pitch than the 10" tom is if the 10" is tensioned low and the...
