    Re: Accumulated Drums

I have 7 kits now (6 acoustic, 1 ekit). And I keep saying that this is it, but I do have a 1976 Ludwig White Cortex rack and floor tom that are just dying to be joined by a matching kick drum to...
  2. Re: Another kit for me! Rukus Mod Orange Club

The wrap was sourced from Jammin Sam, where, coincidentally, I got the wrap I used to cover my Gretsch kit. It is a similar color pattern to the Ludwig Mod Orange wrap, which was recently reissued...

I see what you did there. And yes, I'm very glad!
  4. Re: Another kit for me! Rukus Mod Orange Club

It does look great and the orange tinted reso head on the kick really enhances the whole look. I'm an Evans guy, but Evans doesn't make a reso in that color so I'm staying with the Remo for now.
  5. Re: Another kit for me! Rukus Mod Orange Club

It's actually a mixture of orange and purple in a psychedelic pattern, hence the "Mod Orange" name for the wrap. In the close up you can see the purple better. That may be why you like it!

  6. Another kit for me! Rukus Mod Orange Club

I went to see my friend the drum builder play a gig one night with my other friend who happens to be a phenomenal drummer himself. We were both blown away by the sound of the kit he was playing...

Re: The Regret to Get Thread

My first new drum kit. A CB700 kit that, once I started playing out, I was embarrassed to be seen with because it was not a name brand and traded it in for my Slingerlands. In hindsight for what I...

Re: Jo Jo Mayer Perfect Balance pedal

It will be. I'm working on my next rig, for which the focus will be light weight and portability. Along with this pedal, I've got a Yamaha Crosstown high hat and cymbal stand. I will pick up...

Jo Jo Mayer Perfect Balance pedal

I've been coveting this pedal for a while now, I just think it's so cool the way it's designed. I saw one used in excellent condition and jumped on it. The seller was a great guy, very local, the...

Sticky: Re: Show Us Your Drums!

It hurts me to see those beautiful bass drums resting directly on pavement, even if it's only one hoop!

Re: Phil Collins can't play drums anymore

I saw Phil in concert a few years ago when his health was even worse than it is now. He walked with a cane and was seated for the whole show. His vocals were still great though and his son, Nic...

    Re: UGH ! Selling Gear

I just listed a bunch of stuff for sale to help fund an imminent purchase. Most of it is stuff that's been laying around taking up space and I wouldn't miss it if it were gone - except for one kit...

Drum Restoration Now A Kit Project

After I had my 20"x 18" 1976 Ludwig floor tom restored, I thought about selling it, but my wife convinced me to keep it since I had it for 40 years(not that it took much convincing). So then my...

    Re: e drums

You really have to play the kits to decide which one is best for you. My advice would be to go to music stores and play as many different kits as possible from the various brands and it will be much...

I have a Yamaha DTX532 and a Roland SPD-SX, to which I added 3 pads and a kick drum trigger to create another ekit. The sounds on both brands are great and the silicon surface of the Yamaha snare...

    Re: e drums

I agree with Zack, at the $500 level all you will find are very entry level kits that you will not be happy with, especially coming from playing acoustic kits. Either try to increase your budget or...

    Re: Internal mic段ng

I decided to get a second Kelly Shu after seeing one for a great price. I'll install it on my current gigging kit, just have to decide which mic to mount on it.

I installed a Kelly Shu on my Silverstar Mirage kick, it sounds great and saves me time during setup. Unfortunately the band I use that kit for hasn't been gigging lately, and I haven't decided...
