  1. Re: $125,000 for a 1988 Rockstar Kit?

    That's Corvette money.

Anybody who would pay more than $1,500 for a set of drums is foolish.

I know that some companies sell for way more, but with some tuning, I can make my cheap Pearl set...

    Re: John Bonham

Actually, I like his beat as much as Porcaro's. Obviously he left a few things out and it's a bad mix.

Too heavy on the drums. Bonham was a very good drummer, but he never would have been known...

    Re: Title pt IIX

I think that if the various drum companies offered that wrap, it would be a hot seller.
  5. Re: I've finally reach that point ,no more drum buying

That's why I'm trying to collect Jennifer Lawrence and Brie Larson. They are both young, have a long way to go, and their value has to definitely go up.
  6. Re: I've finally reach that point ,no more drum buying

This getting old stuff sucks. If I don't wrap my wrists, they hurt like hell when I'm done playing.

I can show you how it's done as long as Cailyn doesn't hit me with a bat.
  9. Re: I've finally reach that point ,no more drum buying

"I don't think I've ever mentioned it but I'm a minimalist. I rarely ever buy anything I don't need. I don't own that much either and I like it that way. I read somewhere long ago that "what you own,...

    Re: Building a Drum Room

Tom, you aren't supposed to picture me in Depends. You are supposed to picture me with Jennifer Lawrence or Brie Larson.

By the way, there is a picture of Brie Larson in a bikini from a GQ...

If you ever finish that room, you might be able to play 2/3

I bought those drums from Sam Ash in NY around 1972. They were my go to set when I gigged, but after 40+ years, I just got tired of...

    Re: Building a Drum Room

I have to admit that that is a good picture of Spaz attempting to electrocute himself.

For those that have noticed, Spaz has spent so much on snare drums and the room (every time I see 1 of his...
  13. Re: I've finally reach that point ,no more drum buying

With Bish we will know in about a month by how bad the withdrawals are.

If he is spotted running around sweating profusely looking for a dealer, we will know that "enlightenment" has not fully...

. "Everyone started looking at me like I'm crazy lol"

I suppose that it never occurred to you that they have a better than 50-50 chance of being correct.
  15. Re: I've finally reach that point ,no more drum buying

"This is the first time in 45 years I've been able to resist buying drum gear. I consider it a milestone".

You have reached "Enlightenment". Before you lose it, you should talk to Bish and...

    Re: Building a Drum Room

Noah built the ark, rode out the flood, then went and watched the Egyptians build the pyramids at Giza in less time than it's taking you to build this room. I'm hoping that you get it finished...

    Re: Title pt IIX

I rewrapped them about 5 years ago.

I have an inner and outer basement. The part I play in is directly under the center of my house which lets me play 24/7. The room is 38'x26'.

Re: I have cubital tunnel syndrome YAY!!!!

I have to ask. How in the hell did you snap your arm in half.

Personally, I think that Cailyn smacked you around after the 30th snare drum. If you make it to 60 snare drums, she may break the...
  23. Re: When a drummer records in a studioŚ

Never played to a click track, and now, obviously, I never will.

Song starts at 100 BPM, 1/4 of the way through, 100 BPM, 1/2 way through, 100 BPM, 3/4 of the way through, 100 BPM, finish...
  24. Re: When a drummer records in a studioŚ

I did several, a couple in the mid '60's before I went into the USAF, and a handful in the early '70's.

All were done with the whole band at 1 time. Drums in a room separate from the band.

    I...
