    RMV drum hardware

I picked up an RMV kit recently on the cheap, but it didn’t include any of the hardware. I’m specifically looking for mounts that will work with the 8”, 10”, and 12” toms, and am having very little...

    Re: Sound Percussion Cymbal Stands

I have a couple. Never any issues with anything I've put on them. I've used them for 16-18" crashes, 18" China and a 20" K Custom ride. I even had my X-hats clamped to one of them. No signs of...

    Re: Sabian vs. zildjian

Yup, it's true. Zildjian has no true hand hammered line any longer.

One of the reasons I've read about for the Zildjian/Sabian split was because of consistency. Robert Zildjian was unhappy about...

    Re: Sabian vs. zildjian

I don't think you can go wrong with either, and the classic AA Sabians and A Zildjians are very similar. I prefer the AAX line, and most of the HH and HHX lines from Sabian, but the Zildjian K's are...

Re: Left handed drummers that play right handed

I'm trying to learn to play open handed after many years of doing it the traditional way. I've wanted to do it since watching the Arsenio Hall show back in the 90's when the house drummer did it (I...

Re: New 18" A Custom China - Cheap

Yeah, one of the local Best Buy stores here started carrying music equipment a couple years ago. I've only gone in there once, and back then they didn't have a huge selection at the time. I don't...

Just kidding....good on ya for kicking the habit! I had my last smoke a little over a year ago after smoking on and off for about 15 years. I'd quit several times...

Re: Ringo Starr - Famous Drummers

This is where I'm at. There will never be any hate of the Beatles coming from me, but I've just never really been into their music too much. Tons of respect and appreciation for what they...

    Re: Hats

AAX Fusion hats were mentioned and are a very good choice IMO. The AA Fusions are also a good choice I think, and may come in for a few $$$ less if you can find some used. I like mine a lot, and...

Re: To Wuhan or not to Wuhan...

My opinion, get yourself another Wuhan if you like them (I know I do). A Wuhan is no more prone to breaking than a Sabian or Zildjian if your technique is sound and with the right mounting hardware....

    Mmmmm...Leopard Ride.
    Ahhhh...Earth Ride.

  16. Re: how do you obtain that chirp noise that bass drums make?

Try taping a quarter or 50 cent piece to the head and use wood or plastic beaters.

I can't remember who used to do this, but it was an interesting effect.

My take on Lars goes something like this...

He was a pioneer back in the day, but not a great drummer in my opinion, and I don't think I've ever...

    Re: Ride Selection?

Crashable ride? Take the K custom off the list. It's a great ride cymbal, but not a very good crash cymbal IMO.

Re: Sabian apx thin crash 20"

Yes, the APX is a good sounding cymbal IMO but it is LOUD! I had the 18" and got rid of it because it was just a bit too much at times.
