    Re: Cajon Talk!

I just picked up a Meinl Headliner Cajon this weekend and having lots of fun just bumping along with songs and trying to move some beats I've learned on the set to the cajon.

    Anybody have any tips...

    Re: Drum Mutes

Mutes definitely reduce the sound, but depending on your house layout and walls it may still be heard. Whether or not it'll keep anyone awake - only they can say for sure.

    I use the typical foam...

Re: How did you get into drumming?

This is very similar to my story. I was interested as a kid because my closest friend got a set (and became very good) - but I never got around to it. About a year ago I was taking guitar lessons...

Not that I'm experienced or anything, but I've been learning to pay attention to what the bass is doing on the low end for your bass rhythm and what the guitars are accenting up top and build beats...

    Thanks!

Yeah - that tom is the worst - sounds like crap and vibrates the heck out of the snare. I've got some links and videos about tuning and I'll be spending some time this weekend doing it. ...

    First video

    Howdy folks,

I scored a new Flip Mino with my bank card's "points" rewards stuff so I thought I'd test out making a video with it.

I currently pay $85/month for 1/2 hr once a week, and around here they tend to be in the range of $85 - $100 for that amount of time.

    Riverdance

I took my girl to see Riverdance the other night for our anniversary. I honestly wasn't expecting all that much, but this is a show you've got to see!

The dancing was all well and good, if you're...

Re: Need to find a band.

If there's a craig's list for your area there's a musicians section that usually has people looking for bands/musicians to play with.

Definitely - smell and taste are very powerful memory triggers. Vanilla used to really do it for me. I like sage, too.

Challenger - Before I got my Jeep I leased a Charger and it was awesome, so the Challenger must be at least 10 times as sweet.

Re: MY best route on Muting Drums

I've got one of these and it doesn't work very well. I play muted a lot and I've just got my bass reso head off and the drum stuffed full of pillows and blankets - works better than the HQ mute.
