  1. Re: Thinking of getting an ekit, need some feedback...

I've not been shy about praising my Roland TD-9 kit. I couldn't have chosen a better kit for my needs.

It does have USB for a memory stick, lot's of inputs and outputs; midi in/out too.

    You're...

    Re: Tennis Elbow

I was diagnosed about 3 years ago and I still have pain. I have Golfer's elbow in both arms.

The difference between tennis and golfer's is the side of the elbow affected. If you hold your arm...

Re: Not another "which v-drum to buy" thread??

    Congrats on the purchase drum002.

Playing an e-kit is different, but I think you'll enjoy the no muss no fuss side of things. Just sit and play; go away for a few weeks, come back, sit down, and...

Beautiful throne Riouel. It's almost a shame to sit on it.

I think the price you paid may have been expensive. So many hours, so many beers. But, I think the finished product is worth more than...

Congrats playingagain. Glad to hear you get to continue the journey.

I received the Pearl VSX kit as a Christmas present and I like these drums. I was really looking at another brand, but who is...

Re: How old when you started?

Thanks bongobro. I've been at it for a couple of years now. I've played (around) on guitar and Mandolin for about 10 years on and off, but I always liked percussion better.

    In fact, in bluegrass...

Re: You don't need a high end kit...

Cost is relative. What's affordable to me is expensive to someone else, and vice versa.

Some of the pressure to buy more expensive kits is just good marketing. Manufacturers want to sell gear,...

    Re: Nicest LOOKING drums?

Lots of beautiful kits here. Good thing I won't have to decided between them.

But, among all the beautiful wood finishes and wild paint jobs, I think the black and chrome Tama kit really caught...
  11. Re: Sorting out the confusion with buying a "first" drum set

I think any of those kits mentioned would be a great first kit. While I have been playing (at) drums for about 2 years, my wife actually just bought me my first acoustic drum kit for Christmas. ...

    Re: e-kit for practice

Love my Roland TD-9S. It's within your price range.

There are a number of good e-kits, so look around for the features you want.

Don't forget that you will need an amp or headphones to hear it,...

Re: Anyone else use this head?

I put the HD dry over a Hazy 300 on my Pearl Sensitone Snare. Sounds pretty good to me.

The snare is the basic alloy steel model that comes with the Vision kit.

Re: super cymbal shine...a new technique?

Cool idea DD. There are so many different ways to clean or restore shine to cymbals posted that involve chemical or mechanical actions. They all remove some material.

    Even vinegar is acid. I...

It sounds like a workable solution to the noise issue, and you still get to play your drum kit.
