    Re: This is very frustrating

NP -- I really agree with Tom's advice -- you are not done yet.
I'll be 66 in August and I'm gigging all I can...............I confess it is harder than it used to be.

Re: Kit you've had the longest?

Gretsch USA Customs -- ordered March, 1977 -- received shipment August 26, 1977 (exactly 10 days after the death of Elvis).
This August will be 42 years and I'm still gigging these drums as...

Cool that you got to do that...................I saw where he did two similar appearances in Denver recently.
STYX is a much better band these days................IMO.
  8. Re: DCP 10th Anniversary Sonor Cast Bronze Snares

    Wow, NP................what a killer trade.
That Ludwig shell pack is great; I would have done the same thing (without any hesitation).
That shell pack had to have cost twice that snare price.

    Re: New Ludwig Snare

Oooooo.........I like that one -- good job.
Back when I had my Legacy kit (before they were called Legacy), all the kits came standard with a Supra 400.
    I didn't want a COB snare -- years later...

He was such a hot-head, I wouldn't do it either -- you saw how he reacted when DW took over marketing for Gretsch.

Re: Tama SLP G-Maple snare unmatched

    Full disclosure -- I don't have a G-Maple Tama.............but I do have a 7 X 13 Black Magic that is somewhat awesome.
That is how I know I love the 13-inch size.

Must be a good snare................that is some pretty serious company...............and I really like the 7X13 size.
  21. Re: Best way to use 2, identical floor toms in a 1 up 2 down set up?

WOW -- I can't believe I had completely forgotten about that kit and the matching rack toms.
  22. Re: Best way to use 2, identical floor toms in a 1 up 2 down set up?

IMO opinion (and assuming one rack tom) the way to deal with that set-up would be to tune the rack tom to the best sounding pitch for that specific shell (irrespective of where that may be) and tune...
