    ok. so I have these two pairs of sticks. the Vater Mike Johnston 2-4-5-1 and the Vic Firth 55a's .. they both claim to be 16" long with a diameter of .580in .. but the Vaters are a bit smaller....

    so quick check. pulled my dtxIV module out of storage and the tcs pad triggered it although only got 2 zones not 3 and it didn't read quite as sensative. but I also didn't spend any time fiddeling...

    The newer Yamaha TCS pads are pretty incredible but I am not sure if they will trigger correctly with the dtx500 module I read somewhere that the tcs pads and the older modules were incompatable.
