Overall though, I would go with Bonham.
Paiste Signature series all the way...... Those Paiste Signature crashes play harmonies if you listen closely... absolutely amazing.
Go for what sound you like the best... duh. Paiste signatures are expensive but sound incredible, wish I could afford them, I destroyed my last batch.
I believe finding the point on the the stick where it offers the most rebound is important. That way you do less "work". The way you hold the stick is important because it affects the way you sound...

Practice filling for songs, but in your mind keep the groove going. A good way is to put a click on half notes either 1 and 3 or 2 and 4.

Randomly play along with any music or drum machine or metronome... definitely don't worry about if it sounds good or not. Record yourself doing this. Listen. Record again....

Yes I agree. I try to get to the point where I don't need to count, just express. Besides, counting serves no purpose except to verbalize. Indian tabla drummers have syllables for each different...

You have to keep retuning your heads every once in a while. If you don't know how to tune, you need to learn to listen for pitch. One drum at a time. Find the pitch (start over by loosening all lugs)...
