  2. I've become really frustrated the past couple of days...

These past couple of days I've been trying to keep up what I've been doing the last week (introducing double bass). All I'm playing is straight up 16th notes without stopping. I got up to 95-100bpm...

    Super newbie question

Hi guys, haven't posted for a while (even though I only ever tend to ask questions on here, the responses I get are super helpful)

Basically, I'm forcing myself to start using a click when I...

    How to learn a song

I've been drumming on and off for over a year now. I had a couple of lessons at the start but most of it I have picked up myself.

I find it very difficult to understand how to approach a song...

Re: Double bass pedal for my DTX500K

This is my only kit. It's small and compact enough to sit in my flat. Ideally, I don't want to go out and buy the best pad or pedal just yet. But what I have now...

Double bass pedal for my DTX500K

I haven't put any extras on as of yet but I'm 90% sure I read somewhere I can fit an extra beater on the bass head. As I'm completely new to all of this, what actual parts would I need to buy for...

    Re: Practice

Apologies for the late responses, but I've been away for a few weeks!

I can read drum notation to an extent, yes. My mind may need a little refresher.

I don't own any material. No books or...

    Practice

Been playing for about a year now, still not that good to be honest. However, I saw this high rated comment on a YouTube video of a drum cover after somebody mentioned about them 'sucking at drums'....

Sticky: Re: So what drum related stuff did you do today?

Finally got round to finding out how to change my very flimsy hi-hat pedal to a bass the other day. Flimsy indeed.

    Re: Drum Lessons Crisis

To an extent I agree with this point. Both teachers I told I'm happy to start from the beginning. It meant going through stuff I already knew but at least then I knew if I had picked up any bad...

Thanks for the reply. Usually he'll talk general chit chat or about him and his life story of drumming etc.

Yeh. He was charging 9 more for a lesson (25) and he was also a lot further away. Great lad though. I'm only 21 myself.

Then I went to the 55 (or so) year old - that's who this thread is about.

    Drum Lessons Crisis

Hey all. Just a little update. I've self-taught myself on my little e-kit for about 6 months now. I've had about 3-4 lessons with a drum teacher and every time I've come out thinking 'I've just...

Re: Beginner questions (may contain stupidity)

Thanks for your input all. :)

One thing I've learnt during my 'experience' with the drums so far is how complex it is and it's definitely not as easy as it looks. Beat A can be picked up in a few...

    Beginner questions (may contain stupidity)
