I personally have the attention span and energy level of a field mouse on heroin so I can totally relate to the having these same focus issues on a regular basis.
As stated there are a ton different factors in determining your sound. Room size, dampening, heads, drum depth, tuning etc.

I would suggest using something like adobe premier elements (instead of the full $$$ version) in place of movie maker and your sync up will be a piece of cake.

I don't think there is. The folks that I know of online that do (good sounding) drum covers (for example Cobus aka Deedlebag), do their covers this same way.
