Solution: Play open handed.
Oh my god. The master rides are seriously the greatest cymbals ever, second maybe only to the old K Zildjians or spizzichinos. I want one of these.
I'm into a super open sound so I use 1 ply heads for batter and reso. I use aquarian classic clear, for some reason it seems to sound purer than its competition. If you have 2 Aquarian Classic...
Ah, I have recently delved into marimba. I have been a concert percussionist for many years but I have never taken on any large projects related to keboard percussion. Nearing my college audition I...
I'm really into timpani. I started a few years ago in concert band and I delved really deep into it in the past 2 years or so. I've played a piece with 232 tuning changes (I counted), which is about...
Yes indeed it is, and it's what I've used to mount that drum (and a few others) for years now. I just set it up this way about a month ago, so until I'm committed to it, I'm leaving it on in case I...
If you asked me a year ago I'd say big. But then I got into jazz and realized how unnecessary it was to have two snares, double bass, 5 toms, and 6 cymbals. I love minimalistic drum sets now.
These are my PDP cx drums. I have meinl byzance hihats, a meinl byzance 18" crash, and a Zildjian custom A ride. I recently condensed my set up a bit just because I felt like going minimal. When in...
Thank you. Its actually Blue Onyx....
haha, exactly. I am in need of a good camera :P
Looks good, but I would suggest untilting(is that a word?) the toms, the way they are tilted could...
actually I've been here quite a while, lol. About 5 months I think. If you really wanted to, you can find a picture of my drumset (before I upgraded it) pretty far back in this thread.
Here is my drumset, its PDP CX series. The lighting is kind of bad... and the quality kinda sucks also. (And when I say kinda I mean extremely)

Mine sucked. Plus, the foam on the beaters fell off quickly. Just what I think, I might have gotten a bad one, I dunno. It was 99$ on ebay.
I love his drumset. He's my favorite drummer. SoaD is awesome.
Another program you could use is called "SUPER". The good thing about it is that it can convert anything to anything, so it will come in handy in lots of instances besides the one your in now.
a camels back
I get vic firth 7an, and they break really easily. (for me at least) I do infact do a lot of rimshots, and I hit everything very hard. They normally break in a week or two!
Lol, if my snare drum sounded like st. anger I wouldn't want to change it!
Wanna trade? Lol.
A drum off? That would be quite fun!
I never saw him doing anything wrong... (I know nobody sees me around, but I do quite a bit of lurking) I do think the rules here are a bit strict. I know him on another forum, and he seems like a...
400?
You know, I know a lot of people who have taken up guitar or other instruments after playing guitar hero, and got really good. It makes kids want to learn to play.
And I also think rock band...
Both fingers and toes actually, lol.
Barefoot. I only wear shoes if I'm playing at lessons.
