Hello!
Happy new year to you all.
I also came across a photo of them in my apartment in 1992, when I first bought them.

These days this kit lives where my current band rehearses. I bought this kit in 1992, so it will be thirty years since I brought them home. (It's been a long time, but I'd guess that I bought it in...
That is a stunner for sure!
Congratulations!
I used to own a 1981 "Drop-G Badge" kit. In early 2009 I contacted Gretsch about making a 14" floor tom to match my kit. When they heard that it...
I did this for years and years, I broke myself of it about twenty years ago at the recommendation of my dentist.
My Gretsch USA Custom is my primary gig kit these days.

I just got a call from Pittsburgh Drum Exchange. My Gretsch USA Custom 13” tom, 18”, 20” & 24” bass drums and 14” x 6 1/2” snare drum all just arrived to the shop. I’m going to pick them up tomorrow!
My wife was born and raised in K.C. Although she moved away after college in the 1970s, we were rooting for them. It was a hellava fourth quarter comeback.

Yes, that is the same door.
I didn't order anything, but drums that I already had on order were in production while I was there. (Which is pretty cool!)
Congratulations!
Those are great deals. I lived in DC and then Richmond for a while eleven years ago. I bought a LOT of gear during that time period. :) Congrats!
That is a beautiful drum. Congratulations!
I visited the Gretsch factory in Ridgeland South Carolina this past Wednesday while my wife and I were on vacation. The drums that I ordered are currently in production.
“Old fashioned...
I do. From 1992 until 2008 a 1970s Gretsch stop sign badge 4160 chrome over brass was my primary snare drum, actually it was my only snare drum.
In the past couple of years I've played more gigs...
We jumped in the car and headed south. Charlotte, Charleston, Savanah, and... Ridgeland.
