    Re: Band Horror Stories

This thread has me laughing. What happened to us one time was funny more than anything else at least I thought it was.

Muckraker had a good show with Red Sun Rising at the Masquerade here in...
  2. Re: measuring MPH velocity strikes on real drums & cymbals?

You could try some type of radar gun. I remember a guy at hockey practice had one to clock his shots. That was almost 20 years ago so maybe there's some kind of app now.

The cover band I was in at the time had a show the day I watched the Spinal Tap movie. It had been out a few years already, but I had never watched it. Was funny going to play that...

Re: How many Calories do you burn Playing Drums?

5'9" here hovering a bit over 200! How I ever got there is a secret lol but here I am.

When I was playing hard rock and metal I would be completely soaked. The southern rock I'm doing now is more...

totally cool. Liked when Dennis Wolfe mentioned the records he'd be getting and how he himself played along to records in his formative years. A lot of us here use to do that. I did it with my...

Re: Another piece to the puzzle!

When you say recut the edges, how much are you going to take off? I could see just a shave, maybe, but I don't think I'd want to do more than that. You could end up with a 20x13 bass drum. Plus I'm...

Mike Manginiís drum tech Eric Disrude combined two Pearl Demon Drive bass drum pedals, so that both the left and right foot are playing a slave pedal. This allows Mikeís...

    Re: The Beatles: Get Back

My rating was 3 1/2 stars. There were things I didn't like about it. I didn't like that it would cut away from the band in the middle of a song to the street to those parts where they'd be asking...

The older Remo sets were interesting. They had a lot of different ideas that they tried out. Two that come to mind are the "quick release lugs" and the "Acousticon" shells. The early Remo shells...
