I love my Super-kick II. Very boomy
Badass! Congrats
I'm sure some of it is studio magic but the original snare still is going to sound similar to that. The snare sounds very similar in their live preformances.
What I'm asking for is how you think...
Snare has an coated Aquarian but I'll be buying new heads for it soon. I want it to sound like this:

I was thinking of taking off the rim and head and examining them and if needed, smoothing them out. Not creating a new edge.
Is this a good thing to do when purchasing a new kit? How simple/difficult is it to do? Read this pdf Riverr1 posted a while back and figured I should ask because I'm planning on buying a new kit...
Yes. Found a guy on craigslist who is willing to trade $300 in GC gift cards for his used Catalina. Going to look into that
I guess I should've mentioned I have $300 in GC gift cards..
Craigslist is where I find all my steals

I really do love the Gretsch Cat's but theres just a big price difference and this is a major factor in buying a new kit for a college student who is completely financially independent. I really like...
I'd love a Truth or SJC kit but I haven't stumbled up $3k, yet.
I would love some ideas if you know of some!
Here's another thread about another drummer looking for advice on a new kit. Input is much appreciated.
So I want something SIMILAR in style to the infamous Guitar Center OCDPs, ddrum diablo punx,...
Totally noticed that today as well. I'm looking at the Ludwig Element Emo 4-Piece currently. Thoughts?
Also read this thread on the TB OCDP. Same opinions are shared over (at) drummerworld.
They are indeed molded cherry wood shells. You just have to like that acrylic sound in order to like this kit, in my opinion. This website gave a little more details on the kit than say GC or MF's...
Great link kaosotis!
Killer set KKustoms!
I'm looking to watch some instructional DVDs and hoping I'll pick up a couple things. What is your favorite?

About $300 for GC for my new kit. Blink hoodie, new tires, bluetooth, floTV (love that my step-mom works for Qualcomm and gets stuff at price)
Larry, what kind of dremel attachment do I use to cut into the cymbal with? After that, use a cylindrical cutting/smoothing bit, right?
What's the best way to prevent this crack from getting bigger..?
Are birchwood/brasswood kits really that bad?
