    Re: Msrp $1,699

I'm a DW man, for sure, but I won't be switching from my Demon Drives to these any time soon, certainly not until they release a longboard version and bring down the price.

    Re: Old drum surprise

yeah, uh, don't cut that drum down. Snare beds. Vintage drums lose their value if you cut new bearing edges too.

    Re: DW poor sound

This may not be as big of an issue as you think.

I currently am playing a 15x8 rack tom and 18x16 floor tom setup on the collectors kit I've been playing out recently, and something I've noticed...

    Re: Camco

If the pedal looks like a 5000 footboard with Camco written on it, then it's an older Camco one. If it says Camco by Tama and is a somewhat plain grey footboard it's a "Tamco" pedal and not as...

Re: Ever mix tom heads on purpose?

I was having problems tuning this 15" rack tom I have, so I used an ambassador as a batter head on it and stuck with an emperor on my 18" floor tom.

Why? because if I have ambassadors on both...

Re: Dare you respond to this thread?

I bought and used gloves for a few shows.
I bought the overtone labs tunebot (way too much of a hassle)
When I first bought a china cymbal, I used to have it on the left hand side of my kit, where...

Re: I see why alot of you don't care for drum racks!

The racks I like seeing recently are the "stealth" or the low racks. They keep the top end cleaner looking to my eyes. I used to use a rack, but now I've gone back to using 2 stands. Everything...

Re: I tried to have an open mind, but....(sigh)

Love my Td-12. Probably a threshold issue with the double triggering. I wouldn't use mine to record of course, but one good thing with the electronic set is that if you get double triggering or miss...

Re: Your top 5 favorite drum companies

    1. DW - Sound, construction, quality. Top notch. Great company, great drums. Most of my kits are DWs for this reason.
    2. Tama - Ok, so this one is all about sound. I like the sound of Tama drums. I...

    Re: using someone else's kit

you'll never be as comfortable, but I go to as many blues jams and stuff as I can, so I'm used to playing other kits by now. It doesn't get any more comfortable, but I think it gets easier to do over...

    Re: Drummers Who Get Paid

A short answer to "Will you play for free?"- Pretty much no.

Is this narcissistic, or selfish? No, I don't think so, I know exactly what I'm worth, and it's not just your thanks and a handshake....

Re: Own A Collection Or Have The Perfect Kit?

I choose a collection of high end drums... I think that might be cheating, lol.

If I had to choose, I will say this, I get really bored of playing the same setup, so I would probably choose a...

    Re: Who likes deep snares?

I hardly get to play them because they're so dang loud, but I own a 14x10 Maple DW collectors, 14x8 Birch DW collectors, and a 14x8 DW performance chrome/steel. I love the sound, but I'm about...
  17. Re: Do you try to buy sets with a virgin kick, or do you care?

Now I couldn't care less. There are times, in fact, when I wish I could add a mount temporarily to my dw kick. I just don't want to drill it.

My travel kit is like, an 18, a 10 and a 13 with a 12" snare and only hats and a crash-ride, lol. I'm a huge fan that your travel kit is bigger than my gigging kit... what does that say about me?...

Re: Gong drum or 18" floor tom

Floor tom. More versatile. That being said, I own an 18" and have used it at all of 1 gig total. Might use it more if I had a case for it, and wasn't partial to smaller bass drums.

    Re: Drum lug hole spacing.

worst case scenario you will be able to find tube lugs for 2" spacing. But each is different. I think DW's hole spacing is 1 3/8" for example.
