That is indeed one sick drummer, did you by chance see that music vid he recorded with that singer guy?
I can agree with a lot of these, especially getting ready to play for a group of people (haven't had a gig just auditions) and after nailing a part that takes me forever...another thing for me is...
I was just thinking and I wanted to know, what gets you guys excited to play drums. I'm personally always thinking about being behind the set, but when I hear some really good live music (like...
What an amazing opportunity, must have been a great day for you, being already excited to see your son and ending up hearing some high quality jazz!
I'm also the opposite way, I started out playing the kit so when I played a practice pad for the first time it was so different and so much cleaner that I thought I was doing something wrong...
That's some quality playing, it was super groovy.
Pure win, was fun while it lasted...at least keep a bow or two on during practice :P
Guess that's what he gets for using single-ply :P
That really sucks though, how soon will you have a new bass drum chafey?
Great kit man, one advantage of e-kits is the ability to play whenever, which is why Iight look into getting one myself...I'd def want one like this though it has everything a drummer needs.
Reading this thread almost makes me wanna pick up a bass guitar lol, I love the sound of em
Yeah a video would be awesome Bob...and yeah jammings def a possibility. Its cool that your trainers a Mapex drummer, as that's my kit as well :P
What church do you attend btw, I'm currently at...
LaVergne, TN (next to Smyrna)
Do you attend MTSU yourself Bob? I live in LaVergne (next to Smyrna) maybe we can jam sometime. Also, who's your drum teacher, I'm only 16 but I wanna learn as much as I can before I graduate from...
+1
Too right lol gotta be able to hear it after all
You guys know how there's Music note symbols, such as "♪ ♫ ♩ ♬" right? I was thinking and I wondered if there was one of those, but like a pair of drumsticks instead...so it'd be like a drumstick...
Yeah I know when I first started I was asking this same question, all I did was just use my wrists at first then as I built speed the fingers just kinda jumped in there for me.
And make sure to...
+1 on that...I'd never buy a book on just rudiments, it's a waste
I believe your wrists can only go oh so fast...I think ultimately you'll have to utilize the bounce at SOME point
Sounds interesting...makes me wanna do it now lol
That's great that you're having it in April, gives you time to perfect it and making the songs your own :D I wish my school had a battle of the bands though :\
Good luck though! Lol
Oh yeah I saw those, I'd prefer something that goes directly to my metronome though
Ok so I'm finally buying a much needed metronome tomorrow (my friend who works at a music store is giving me the hookup :D) and I need a decent set of headphones...keep in mind I'm 16 with no job, so...
Yeah I wouldn't depend on drumming either, especially if you're used to practicing hard. Eventually you'll barely break a sweat unless you go crazy the whole hour+
I call mine Roxanne...kind of a common name for an instrument but no one beats her like I do ;)
