Thanks, m8! I'm understanding the physics of the method now. On the hunt for that stand and the corresponding RIMS mounts. I have believed in the RIMS concept for years, got stymied by Gary's...

Thank you for your reply! Leaving the shells stock was my main point of interest on a vintage set.I swapped some emails with Gary Gauger in September, 2012, about doing this with my 1965...

    @ drummer5359

Nice kits, all. How did you attach the RIMS mounts to the Leedy toms? Did you remove the diamond plate brackets and replace with the RIMS brackets? Did this involve drilling any new...
  5. Re: Just got up close to Neil Pearts Slingerlands!!

    Hi, m8's.

I got to play "Chromey" at Lakeside Park (the one in Rush's song of same title) at Port Dalhousie, near St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada. After Mr. Peart retired the set, it was in...

Logos, scmollgos. Unless they pay me, I don't advertise brands. I don't advertise for free. My Slingerland original 1965 reso is to tell those who know a bit what it is. Sometimes they will come up...

    Re: Drum Solo's - disappointed

    Hi, m8's
I think a solo is to either match the song its within or, if a stand-alone piece, a chance to show your musicality as well as your chops. Rise and fall, swell and diminish, flow and ebb. A...

Glad you had a great time, too. That's what playing is all about! Somewhat bittersweet with your friend moving away.

I don't mind being up front, as long as I can see and hear all my bandmates....

Thanks, PB! Happy New Year to you!

It sure was fun---the band was cookin' with that "locked in" vibe, the crowd was jumpin' and the dance floor was full almost all night. I had that feeling most...

Beautiful Kit. Must have been in cases for years.

Looks late 60's or early 70's (set-o-matic, wing nut tighteners on floor tom legs, rubber feet on kick drum leg). Sizes resemble the Modern Solo...

    Re: playing drums to songs

+1---Making it your own while observing the atmosphere of the song is the best. Some things must recreate the original but playing a British Invasion or Beach Boys song in a reggae or mambo or swing...
  14. Re: Ever play with a bassist that thinks their a lead guitarist?

There is a problem with the Zoomatic, especially the early ones. When the tension knob is overtightened, a part contacts the shell and can damage the wrap. You can read about it and a whole lot more...
