Hi everyone, first time in a long time-poster here, had a break from drumming for a few years and only recently started playing.
Also the first time in a long time since I've used this forum, so I'm...
So, the lack of a budget has struck again and my bandmates require a recording of the drumtrack I recently wrote for the song the band's going to record a demo for. What do I do?
I pick up my...
If I find myself in the right mood, I find it very enjoyable to play along to a full album. My favourites are Sink Or Swim by The Gaslight Anthem (whail on that hihat!) and VS by Pearl Jam (stomp...
Finally got the drum part for the new song my band's been working on entirely written. Recording demos this thursday! Gonna be fun
In my opinion, Troublegum is their best album... :D
Lars' drumming sure did improve
I have tried many different setups, but the 1 up 2 down with the ride cymbal over the bassdrum always gets me to rock out!
Alphas always look so damn sexy
1.Bonham (Led Zeppelin)
2.Dave Grohl (Nirvana, QOTSA, TCV)
3.Dave Abbruzzese (Pearl Jam)
4.Matt Cameron (Pearl Jam, Soundgarden)
5.Chad Smith (RHCP)
6.Sean Kinney (Alice In Chains)
7.Brad Wilk...
Why are you selling it though?
He and Tim Commerford make one of my favourite rythmsections in rock music.
Like his cowbell playing on RATMs first album
I have seen five-piece sets of that kit for 1000 dollars. So I figure a 7 piece with hardware included would come around at about 1200 dollars, considering it is in good condition.
My perfect cymbal (especially the bell) sound is the sound of Bonham's in Whole Lotta Love. All those bells just sound fenomenal to me.
Note that the cymbals you use could also be heavier than the cymbals one used in the 70's.
heavy cymbals obviously move way less than a thin and light cymbal
Everyone here is just going all out against this guy.
While I do I agree that 6 is a bit young, the only thing he probably wants is the best for his boy, and share the joy of drumming with him.

Nice to hear, how is your left foot going?
Are you noticing any difficulties with keeping up to your right foot?
Yeah, Chuck Taylor's are the way to go. Still enough mobility and feel to slide up the pedal, but it protects your feet so that the pedal doesn't rip your toes open.
I also prefer a shoe in which I can move my ankle freely. Chuck Taylor's is where it's at. I don't think I would find boots comfortable, can't move my ankle like crazy to slide along my pedals. But,...
Lol, this pretty much sums up my drumming career; if Bonham uses it, then it's good
Yes I can definately recommend the PST8 line. Own a 17" Rock Crash myself and it sounds like a top-of-the-line cymbal!! Now to save up and buy a complete set...
The best way in my opinion is the boom stand next to your head. When you turn left, you can sing, and if you don't, you can't. This way the audience won't hear your mumbling/breath during breaks and...
Led Zeppelin - The Crunge:icon_mrgreen:
But on a serious note, you should try Not For You by Pearl Jam.
Basically a straight kick-hat-snare-hat pattern all the way through, but with some...
Most of the proffesional drummers do it indeed that fast or that discrete that it's hard to notice. But take a look at an overhead cam of one o' them playing and I can assure you that 90% of your...
Birch shells have the warmth of wood, but cut through just a little more (really little, you will most likely not hear a difference between the two) than maple.
But, I see you got yourself a Chad...
Nicely written.
I must say they look very attractive. One could wail on his drums all day without buying an all new electronic kit.
One question though; do the cymbals still have enough rebound to...
