I have basically the same set up but I put my mounted tom on the same side as my floor tom. Is there any reason in particular your ride is set the way it is?
I would say that I fall at least a little into this category and for the most part I try to be really tight with the guitarist either in rhythm or in emotion. Occasionally, we'll try to do something...
hmmm. 4 drums + 3 cymbals + 7 bits of hardware + 2 percussion pieces = 16 pieces altogether i believe. I like to travel light.
That freaking rocks! What made you decide to suspend those toms and how did you pull that off?
I never really got much into Dream Theater, but its a pretty cool watch. I like seeing how each of the drummers interacts with the rest of the band.
If i were to have the money laying about I would definitely get a set. Those are really cool, and imagine the possibilities of having them "lit from within." That would make for an awesome light show.
At least they were polite about it. Reppin' well for the rest of us!
A couple months ago my guitarist and I both had to get up at the crack of dawn to take the SAT. We had also both come down with some virus and were feeling awful by the time our set came around. To...
Usually not before 11am and until 10pm if my parents are gone. I typically stop by 9 or whenever the other inhabitants in the house tell me to cut it out.
If your cymbals are low grade I'd start there, probably with either the hi hat or ride if you have to pick.
I would if it began to bother me enough. I have enough to do without worrying about it. One day though, one day.
What are some low snare stands? My old snare stand sits pretty low but its starting to give out. I've played on a few other people's drum kits and their stands all have their lowest setting higher...
I only have a single pedal, in part because I'm poor and lazy. I play post-rock/indie kinda stuff.
She looks way too young to be allowed to be that good at anything!
Ahhhh. I have a battle of the bands this weekend and they said there might be a house kit so I understand your preemptive fear of set up specific fills. At least you've got the experience now!
Cool! I look forward to seein this come to life!
Ah I know the feeling. My band's last song took two months to write as well. I think its just a getting used to writing with your mates thing. By this summer you guys will probably be pumpin out the...
I had been bangin around on my friends' drumsets when I was allowed for a couple of years, and finally bought my own about a year ago at 16
My first name is Sagen, and the monk part came from me trying to think of a screen name for an instant messenger in seventh grade. Now its just what I can remember easily.
That's awesome! The Conservatory is an awesome place to see shows! I'd be a proud pop too.
I've been snowed in with my family, so not a whole lot of drumming the past couple days. It's making me restless
Zach Hill would stack his broken cymbals atop each other to create a trash pile in lieu of a china. Super trashy sound
I don't have a terribly entertaining drum face

Thank you! I agree, its a good way to get the juices flowin'.
