I use Shea butter. It works really well, doesn't have any chemicals that can harm the heads, and a little goes a long way. I bought an 8oz jar and is lasting forever.
What do you guys use on the head to keep it from drying out.
I've been using hand lotion that I apply a small amount to my hands, rub my hands together and then rub my hands on the drum heads. But, someone told me that the water in hand lotion could be damaging to the head, heard of using sear butter, lanolin and some other things.
Just wondering what everyone is using.

I also use Shea butter and I'm really happy with the results. My heads look great and I haven't had to deal with my fingers splitting. Midgard is right a small amount will last you a long, long time.
