Default auditioning a Bass player today

This could be interesting, I'm used to jamming with guitarists but I cant say I've ever jammed with just a Bass player, if I have it wasnt since High School 20 yrs ago.

    So any tips?
it's gotta be a whole different ball game than jamming with a lead guitar, they do their thing, I keep the beats and throw in my fills and it all works out.

not like I've had many responses for ad's for bass players he's the 2nd one and the first guy had "too much on his plate" to even bother to come over and give it a shot. this guy seems like he'll fit in, he's in our age group, likes the same style of music and we're right about at the same level in how long we've been playing.

Now to find the right guitarist, I figured that would be easy. Hahahahahahaha
    how wrong I was.

Bass players are near impossible to find. I hope this one works out for you.

Well, now I have a bass player for the band. He'll take some work but he has a solid foundation and he's studying with a guy who teaches Jazz bass, If you can handle Jazz you can handle about anything.

This is the first guy I have ever had to keep asking to turn his amp up louder. lol
He lives in an apartment so he's used to playing very quietly, I cant be overpowering my Bass player.

He seems to have a decent personality, we got along well, he just needs a little confidence boost but I'm sure he was nervous so hopefully it all work out.

Nurturing a new guy can be cool. At least you won't be dealing with attitude!

I a couple of options (to spice things up) are:
1.) jam with both the bass and the drums locking together.
2.) Drum locked, bass improvising (maybe a solo?)
    3.) Bass locked, Drums improvising

option 1 would be the first tick! and # 2 and # 3 would be more of gauging how well you (as a drummer) work well with the bassist...and vice versa.

    Hopefully this is the one!
