    Hello!
Could anybody help me get more info about the snare drum seen in the following pictures? It looks to me like a vintage Sonor 14x5" but I would like to know which series and wood type. Thanks!

    The pics are at:

    Welcome to Drum Chat, fllx.

That is a very clean, nice looking snare. I can't offer any information for you but hopefully after a few days of this posting being available, someone will offer up some good info for you!

Try contacting Sonor. Go to their website. They should have some kind of contact info. The people at your local GC should be able to help you out with contact info.

A good drummer will sound good on anything(even stock drum heads). A bad drummer will sound bad on anything.

Is there a serial number? If so, go to the Sonor web site and learn what you can. If not, submit the photo's to Sonor and learn what you can. Appoears to be a fine lookinbg drum and not of any inferior make, judging by that snare mechanism.
There's a lot to be said for Time Honored tradition and value.
