I have a sabian B8 ride and definitely like it

Although lots of people criticize it for how much ring and sustain it has, I just stuck quite a bit of duck tape on the bottom. Now it has a nice tone with a perfect sustain, and a nice cutting bell

Sabian fan here as well. I wanted to get you guys opinion on this china cymbal. Do you think it's a good buy and do they sound pretty good?

Also i have heard where people are mounting their china cymbal upside down. Is that supposed to be the correct way of mounting that type of cymbal or are they just doing that to get a different tone out of it or something?

I'm sure sure about the buying of Sabians.

But as for your china question, I think it does produce a different sound, and apparently it's also less damaging, because you don't hit it right on the edge.

I use B8's at the moment. I know a lot of people complain about them but I'm actually very satisfied with them. I have 14" hats, 16" and 18" crashes, a 20" ride, and also a 12" splash (I think it's 12" anyway - and also this one came extra and is not a B8).

Yeah B8's are OK. The only ones I can STAND are the rides and crash-rides. Especially the crash-rides, because they don't have a good crash, and they don't have a good ride either.

yohin, I'm assuming you meant can't stand, right?

I actually like the ride myself. But then again I don't have much experience with cymbals and therefore don't have much to compare it to.

all i hav is a small splash cymb from Sabian but its better than any of my meinls. I don't go anywhere without it when it comes to my drums. But later on I'll get some other cymbals by Sabian and maybe replace my meinls.

    i got a Sabian Solar 16" crash.
at first i thought it was absolutely crap but then i started to like the trashy sound it has, its almost like a replacement china. And strangely im finding that i love this cymbal.
    Anyone else used Solar before?

I wouldn't consider HHX decent priced. They are top-of-the-line and they're pretty expensive. At that price level though, you can't go wrong in terms of quality. Pick whatever cymbals suit your wants and needs. HHX is a great choice.

love my sabians! Im not brand loyal..if it sounds amazing I will use it but it just happens to be that everything I like is a sabian.

    21" hhx groove ride
    21" Hand Hammered Ride
    18", 16", 10" evolution
    18" HHx Studio crash
14" AAX Studio top hat (thinner)
14" AAX Stage top hat (heavier) These two together make a killer combo!

Since all the top lines are too expensive for me(mainly because im cheap), i really like sabians pro sonix line. I currently have a 14 inch crash. They are discontinued, but you can still order them. They sound great!
