I really want to add an ozone to my setup, but I have other cymbal needs to take care of. Gotta figure out what to put in place of my 18"AAX dark crash I just replaced. Never liked that cymbal.

Can personally vouch for this, I've got a 16" HHX Evo Ozone, fantastic cymbal!

I went with the cheaper XS 16" for three reasons

    1) it was the matching series to the rest of my cymbals
    2) It still had a great bright sound in my opinion
    3) it came with a free bag and who can complain about that?!

I'll have to reserve judgement for hearing these first hand, but what I hear on the Sabian XSR videos is not impressive. (Love the drummer they use for the demo, though!) In fact, the videos make them sound more like B8s than the often good quality XS20s we're accustomed to.

I'm going to have to get me one. I was leery about cracks starting where the holes are drilled out.

I've been using mine for about 2 years now, and It's even fallen off of a 6 foot drum riser, and no cracks at all. It's a sturdy cymbal!

I would be too, but I remembered about drilling holes to repair a cracked cymbal. So I guess in a way, it could prevent them, or I could be completely wrong.

I bought Sabian AA medium hihats (Sabians answer to Zildjian New Beats),really really nice hats..compared them side by side to New Beats and the Sabians sounded better (to me) and $30 cheaper..although there were 2 sets of New Beats and the tops of both sets seemed medium/light, they are supposed to be medium over heavy like the AA

Glad you like those hats MYK. I have even playing my AA Regulars now for years and wouldn't switch em for anything. I think the AA series as a whole is underrated, especially for the price

I almost got the AA 16" thin but went with the 16 Med thin. It's my favorite crash. Sounds like the HH rides in general are winners!

I have a 16 Med. thin HH sometimes just for the heck of it I'll ride on it. It doesn't ride well, but it's sound makes me think that I would probably like an HH ride.

I've never heard anyone say they didn't like the HH RBDR. You might read a few posts about people selling one, but they usually say they regret selling it after the fact!

I just picked up some SR2s at my LDS.. 20" HH ride, buttery smooth and chock fulla smoky goodness! 16" AAX(?) crash has a slight up turned edge..sounds amazing! And the 14" hats are crispy, but still have a dark shimmer I love!!

Is it possible the crash is an El Sabor? They have a sleight up turned edge. I have a 13" AA El Sabor. What did you pay for the ride?
