Anyone with experience with the 900 series? I'm considering upgrading from PST 7, PST 5. Thanks.

http://www.redskymary.com/ NOT MY BAND, JUST A GREAT LOCAL BAND WHO SHOULD BE SOOO MUCH BIGGER IMO
I have not used those yet, but, IMHO if you're going to upgrade, those would be a good choice. They are the replacement product for the Alpha series. Same alloy is used for these as is used for the 2oo2's. I've used 2oo2's for a while and am very happy.
Just got a 14" Paiste 2oo2 Sound Edge high hat. First impression? Why did I wait so long.
I recently switched my entire cymbal set up to Paiste 900's. I was a die hard Ziidjian guy for years, used A & K Custom medium thins (which I broke a LOT, lol). Switched to Saluda, which I wouldn't recommend to anyone. IMO Saluda sounded like garbage and I tried several of their line. I figured I'd switch it up and try Paiste, went for the 900's. I've had them over a month and really love them. I also added an Alpha series crash that I picked up used (I believe the 900 series replaced the Alpha series).
Anyway, sorry for rambling...I recommend trying them.

I finally found a deal I was happy to pull the trigger on.
Now I have a reasonably decent set of backup cymbals.

Ok, Paiste experts, I have a question.
At church I play a pair of Paiste Alpha 13" Medium Hats. I am the only drummer at our church, and I supplied all of the drums and the cymbals (and half of the PA). I am planning to swap out the Alpha hats with my Sabian XS20 14" Hats, which I have played in that room.
So here is my question, once I have the Alpha Hats, I will need some other Paistes. Before I was a Sabian guy, I was a Paiste guy. I have played several gigs with hats, a crash-ride, and a smaller crash. The store I shop at has some Paiste, so I should be able to obtain a 16" or 17" crash there. For my third Paiste, I want an 18" crash-ride. I went to the Paiste website and listened to the Giant Beat 18" Multi cymbal, and I liked what I heard.
Would that be the right cymbal for a small Paiste setup? Thanks. Peace and goodwill.

Just bought a 900 22 inch heavy ride.
Great sounding for a mid tier cymbal.
Wish they would make a flat ride in this series.DSC01055.jpg

Those 90's are supposed to be 2002 bronze.
Reminds me of the Meinl pure alloy which are quite a bit more expensive (but are great sounding cymbals).
