Default Mixers + Hard **** Recorders

    hey everyone

im looking into getting a new mixer to run backing tracks, click plus a monitor mix of the band through

just wondering if anyone had any suggestions of professional standard mixers? or something they could definitely recommend?

i've used behringer xenyx 802 and 1002 in the past but am not too keen on them as they seem to not work so well they more they are pushed.
i've been looking at yamaha and these have been suggested to me.

also can anyone suggestion a hard disk recorder for live playback of backing tracks and clicks. i know akai and yamaha make them but that is all.

    cheers

I have a macki 4 channel mixer that i love, i run my click and monitor mix through it, my back tracks go straight to the house so they have full control, and then i just get it in my ears.

A laptop set up as DAW would be my first choice, then you have a easy to see tool while on stage. You can pan your click to one side and your FOH music to the other.

As for mixers, how hard are you pushing a personal mix?

How can you push anything that is going directly in your ears that hard?

Any mixer with direct outs and a mix B return in conjunction with the HD24 will record up to 24 tracks simultaneously and send it back through the mixer. I happen to use the Behringer MX9000 (24 A channels and 24 B channels) and the
HD24XR and I get to record everything I do, along with professional tracking the HD is designed for recording music and does it very well.
And you can mix dowm though the mixer with hardware or dump it in your computer (I have Cubase) and mix there.

    MX9000 $1200
HD24 or HD24XR $1500 to $2000 (there are used ones available)
    Software (anything compatible)
