I do tap my desk/lap/backpack/whatever quite a bit.
Mostly though I find my left leg keeps time, Constantly! Be it a song on the radio, a song on the tv or even just a song in my head my right leg is automatically bouncing out 1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4 =)

I think this is pretty typical of every drummer out there.
We all do, CB--I'd be more worried if I didn't drum on everything in sight!
Gretschhead, I'm willing to bet hand drummers probably do more drummin' on other surfaces than on their bongos and congas! In fact, I'm sitting at my computer with a pair of bongos within reach...if the computer spazzes out on me and I have to wait for it to respond, I start beatin' out a riff while I'm waiting! (Quick way to get a few minutes practice in, too! )
keep the beat goin' ... Don't keep it to yourself!

I play ALL the time! I usually play drum beats. My wife even says that when I'm asleep i play with my feet and hands ha ha! I quick elbow to the ribs usually solves it! ha ha!
LOL........thats because your playing 16 th notes with your double bass pedals.
I have always tapped on things , as a kid , I usually got hollared at .I drove my father nuts in the car while going on vacations .Usually got yelled at during dinner for shaking the kitchen table.
Now that Im older , I tap my pencil during meetings at work and its my wife who tells me to keep my feet still during dinner .
I just dont realize I do it until its too late .
