    I saw those up there too. I've never played on a solid shell conga, but I've heard that they have a great sound. The only thing about these drums that turns me off is the chinsy hardware. The sideplates, rims, and tension hooks all look very weak to me.

    I've been wanting to order a pair of rope tuned solid shells and retro-fit them with some hardware, but I've yet to come up with any extra money for that project. PM me and I can link you to a site with some cheap solid shell rope tuned congas.

    I suppose if you could get those drums cheap enough, you could upgrade the hardware if it was truly chincey. Might bear watching!

    No idea what his prices are like, but man are those drums beautiful!
