    Default Metronomes

I'm thinking of buying a new metronome. Mine is about 20 years old (an old analog Boss unit) and it's on its last legs. Do you have suggestions on metronomes? What do you guys use or recommend?

I've never had one that worked.
They're either too slow, or too fast.

    Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!
I think you just need to work on how steady your rhythm is lol

I have a nice $20 Korg metronome, nothing fancy, but it works great and barely uses any battery power. I also like to use my electronic kits built in one just because of all the settings it has.
I really wish that we could actually show the pictures in here...

    Cool Metronomes

Seems like the Korg MM-2 is the metronome of choice...

...ironically, Daemon, that's where metronomes excel--helpin' ya keep the beat steady--trouble with most analog (and drummer, I assume you're referring to the old wind-up tick-tock type) metronomes is that, like any wind-up clock, they run "fast" or "slow" if not adjusted perfectly...and they seem sensitive to mistreatment...

If you find a good one that works, might want to post a review of it...
keep the beat goin' ... Don't keep it to yourself!

My metronome is stupid. It has a headphone jack, but it's not the standard 1/8" jack, its a smaller one. And I can't find any headphones to fit it.

I'd practice with my metronome way more often on the kit if I had a set of headphones that fitted.

Do you use headphones cc777? You might wanna invest in some Isolation Headphones. They dampen the sound of whats around you, and let you hear your metronome a lot easier. Plus, you can use em for computer headphones or for your mp3 player or whatever.

I am not picky on sticks so if it wont break a head i will probably use it but i like Pro Mark i don't know why maybe its the way they feel but they fit my deformed hand perfect and i don't have super good coordination with that arm so it helps alot.

we used to have a metronome in our band room, but somebody stole it the other day...it was a Dr. Beat...really nice...our band director would hook it up to the PA and turn it up to keep us in tempo...hurts my ears...
