    Default Better bass drum sound?

I've got a 22 inch kick with a Aquarian Superkick I on it and a ported Aquarian head on the front. Right now I'm getting a pretty weak sound , I wanna get a huge punch out of it.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Fred

Loosen your head. Tighten the springs in pedal and add counter weights. Use a shoe with a heel. Try that.

fill it up with blankets. BIG blankets. Two at least. And Evans heads will do the trick.

from my experience, those heards are kind of weak sounding due to all the muffling.
a clear ps3 with a ps3 reso sounds pretty big
might use a mini falam patch for added punch and durrability.
in my experience, this is the most versitle head combo and easy to tune.

Evans Emad batter, any single ply with small internal muffling ring (a.k.a. stock reso or personal preference). Tune the reso pretty tight to get a short punchy sound, tune the batter a little above wrinkle, not JUST above, but not super tight it isn't a tom. And then place a smaller pillow against the batter head just barely touching it, and you'll have an amazing bass drum sound.

Evans EMAD. I have a stock Mapex (Remo) ported head as reso, and a small jumper folded up inside and lightly touching my batter head. BOOOOM

My preference is Evans.....EMAD on batter (w/ falaam patch) and EQ3 ported front head....and absolutely no muffling of any kind....let that baby sing!!
