    I do a roll on the snare where my left stick is bouncing off the rim and the head and the right stick is doing 8th notes.
    It really sounds like your just cruisin but you are using little effort once you have the technique down. Like a super fast triplet.

    Then combine that method with all sorts of doubles and singles with flams and paradiddles. being able to use creshendos by building up the groove.
    Playing louder and softer.
    Bass drum and cymbal accents. ( silencing the cymbal on impact)
    showmanship- stick spinning and just having a blast on stage.

    Whoa, I'm having troubles understanding that roll thing, but it sounds intriguing. More details?

    cole- I'm a right handed drummer. The left stick is teetering back and forth from head to rim while the right stick is playing 8th notes.

    as an example for sound... take left index finger and middle finger and right index finger and do a triplet roll. do it as fast as you can and it sounds very similar. maybe i should post a video of it cause its hard to explain.
    But then i'd be giving away one of my secrets...LOL!

    i still cant understand guys that play 8ths 4ths and 16ths with different limbs at the same time
