Ok, new game. Space aliens have just landed in your front yard. They want to know what this crazy Rock 'N Roll thing is all about and ask you to share one (1), uno, ein, ichi song with them as an example of the genre. Post ONE video link to share with the universe your view of what makes rock, rock. Oh, yeah...failure to post a scintilating (sp?) video may result in the imediate vaporation of the Earth. If you're one of these retards who can't follow rules and post something like "I have so many favorites" and proceed to post fifteen video links, I will hunt you down and personally give you a third degree melvin!

    LOL! We're all doomed!

Seriously, my folks are from the south, and I'm old enough to remember what it was like to grow up near ground zero for The Summer of Love, so that song really hits home for me.

Actually, my parents and grandparents were big country fans, but I always hated country as a kid. Then when I was 16 Merle Haggard came out with a song about the political scene at the time that really touched me. I'm not sure of the exact title, but the lyric of the chorus went "stop roll'n down hill like a snowball headed for hell", talking about the moral decline of America. It really opened my eyes about how good country music can be.

Ok, the guy can sing and it's a pretty catchy toon, but where in the name Hendrix is the guitar solo? Is that the best he's got? My 11 year old son has better chops than that.

They don't put a solo inevery song. when you put a massive 3 minute guitar solo in almost every song, the music doesn't sound as full. the two guitarist(Ben Burnley and Aaron Fink) can do some amazing stuff, let me tell ya. in fact, in they're two best singles, diary of jane and so cold, both have great guitar solos in em'.

As we've pointed out many times on Drumchat. It's never about how complex your riffs are, it's all about how it fits.

And I totally agree RD, although he still busts some pretty insane solos.

They did a parody of this song in the Sponge Bob movie. It was the only version my kids had heard until recently. My son loved it so much he learned the guitar solo note for note. When he saw the origional, he said it wasn't as good as the movie. Kids!

Don't rember the pants, but it's at the end where the lightning bolts fly out of his headstock and free everyone from Plankton's mind controll fish bucket helmets.
