    Default DDrum Defiant Verde Sparkle.

    Hi Guys,

First il introduce myself, Im Buddy, 18 years old. Live in Portsmouth UK and have been playing drums for around 2-3 years.

Its my first post on here and so i thought it should be a review of my new drum kit to replace my old Hohner 5pc. I received my DDrum Dbop Defiant kit today in Verde Green and im pretty impressed.
IT WAS LIKE SUMMER XMAS DAY FOR ME!!!!!

Had a good look over each shell as i was unboxing them checking the edges and for cracks as ive read a few horror stories, the finish on the drum i thought was phenomenal very well done compared to some other kits that were in the shop! . All was pretty good, nothing to moan about.....actually there is, there was **** loads of packaging. The dustbin will hate me in the morning!

Ive had a 4inch hole put into the bass drum skin rather that squeeling when a sound man does it at a gig! on that note the sound from the 20x18 bass drum is brilliant, sounds like a little canon going off!

The toms i thought were pretty bright and as they dont have diecasts on them they ring out just the right amount.

I use a different snare anyway but the one that came with it is pretty sweet man, its got a great crack to it and is what you would expect for the pennies!

Over all i am very happy with it, for the money £450 / to what you get ratio is brilliant and is an awesome sounding kit.

Also the drums came with Remo weatherking skins, is that normal?!? i dunno!

Either way, is good to find a forum with a nice bunch of people and shall post some piccies up as soon as i have my camera back!

    Welcome to Drum Chat Bud!

Sounds like you got a great kit. I wouldn't worry too much about the WeatherKing heads. Most drums ship with single ply heads, and at least the Weatherking head is a quality single ply head.

Give us a pic of the new kit on the "Show Us Your Drums" thread. We love drooling over drums!

Weatherking isnt a specific head by Remo its a trademark having to do with being the first synthetic head.

Your kit probably has clear UT's on it.

Remo Weatherking heads are among ther best in the world. As for die cast hoops...you'll learn as you progress. They tune tight and true and greatly aid the with the sound from your drums.

Nice looking drums and welcome! I never understood though how with that kind of set up people could do quick rolls and fills between the rack tom and the floor tom. Looks like a huge gap between them.

Theres a difference between a one up one down set up and that huge of a gap. To each his own though, I just don't think Neil Peart has his drums set up the same as the OP.
