isn't it great when you make a big breakthrough

I have been trying to nail down shuffles, regular , SRV style, halftime, etc.
and although I kind of had it down i was struggling and overthinking it way too much then yesterday I read a quote from someone who said "shuffles? just follow your heart, it's literally like a heartbeat...same type of rhythm"

all of a sudden it just clicked and i got it down like that, even the two handed SRV style shuffle, just started to flow naturally.

not only that i finally got the fool in the rain/roseanna /purdie halftime shuffle down or at least the snare and hats, still workin on the bass drum part.

my wife was laughin at me because I was all proud of myslef and acting all stupid

triplets...man, i love triplets

I have been playing on and off for a long time and I agree that breakthroughs are the best. My most recent one was learning learning two tricky drum parts from the Tool song(s) Eulogy and Lateralus. They had me stumped literally for years but no longer. It is very liberating!

Congrats on the breakthrough Quadcam! It's funny how you have the understand it on some level to start learning it, but then you have to stop thinking about it and just play it to really get it. When you're stuck in the thinking about it, you never know where the inspiration will come from that will set you free (I know, because I tend to overthink stuff right now).
