i like the iron cobra dbl pedals, and i also like my dw5000s. i only use 1 kick drum at a time and dont play much dbl bass w/ my current projects, but when i was playing metal and playing dbl bass ALL the time i would have never played a dbl pedal on a single kick. no matter what anyone says or how good the pedals are... there is no sub for 2 kicks. you will never get a dbl pedal totally even in feel or sound.

it took me a long time to get used to the feel of dbl pedals. when playing slower dbl bass patterns i tend to rest my left beater on the head and that feels wierd when im playing with my right. i really like the seperaton, that also effects the sound because the left beater resting on the head will muffle the head. sound also effected because left beater is not hitting dead center.
you can get away with that if your one of those guys that triggers. but in a studio under a microscope "without triggers", it is better to use 2 kicks for double bass patterns.
